Day 6 – Starwars Celebration 3

April 20, Chiba

Final Star wars day! We woke up early today, hoping to snag come coin lockers for our luggage before the mad rush of fans arrived. That meant we finished packing our backpacking bags and hurried over to the convention center where the lockers were. Thankfully, no one had either discovered them or arrived yet, so we had our choice of the biggest ones. We put our stuff in them and then headed back towards our cafe.

They were a lot more prepared for the onslaught of customers, so all of our favorites were fully stocked. We grabbed something to eat and I made a friend who gave me the scoop of how to get Pokemon cafe tickets and made me promise her that I would try. Afterwards, we headed back to the rooms to finish getting ready and then off to our final day at Celebration.

I went back to my stage. Juli went to hand out swag and I and the boys went back. Got the latest on Star wars Visions. I didn’t get to stay for long, so I left the child in my stead and Juli and I went to go take our picture with Hayden Christensen!

Juli and I were prepared for the line.

e went early, ready to jump in. She passed out swag while I updated the website and confirmed next stays.
Closer. Closer. The line stopped a few times, presumably so dude man could take a break. but excitement ensued each time it became to move again.
Closer. Closer. HAYDEN!!!!

He was so NICE. The staff was rushing everyone but he took as much time as he could to just see how we were doing. To say we melted after leaving in fangirly little squeals is an understatement. It was so fun; once I got back to my spot at the stage, I had the picture in my hand. An older lady double-taked and saw it and she freaked out, waving her hands and covering her mouth, to which, I also freaked out and we had a fan-girl moment that transcended languages and age. Hehe, man we got it bad.

Soon close out celebration started and we got our location for 2027 – thankfully a lot closer in Los Angeles. We’re hooked. We’ll be going again. (Not me checking that the earliest I can book hotels is November of this year)

It was time for goodbye. We filed out and headed back to our lockers while Juli handed out the rest of her swag. We went back to our cafe for a final lunch before getting on our train towards Tokyo station and our very first Shinkansen!

It was SO spacious and the seats leaned so far back with charging cables in the armrests. We missed an opportunity to get ekiben for the train (I was focused and not paying attention) but the salaryman next to me had some. Fun to watch him eat and learn what to do for next time. (I promise I’m not a creep)

Unfortunately, since we were so tired and in the middle and aisle seats, and it was dark, and the lights reflected from the glass, there wasn’t much to see. I checked the speed a couple of times (177 miles per hour) but because of the darkness, we couldn’t really tell.

We finally got to our apartment in the Dotombori district. Named one of Osaka’s best street food spots, we had to get in on it. We dropped off our bags and Juli before heading out. It was much later than we thought (midnight) so the takoyaki we had (squid balls) wasn’t too fresh or good, but the meat-on-a-stick dude was BALLER. Surprisingly, even with as late as it was, there were still several people out. We wandered for a bit more, taking in the vibe before heading back to our apartment to chill, eat ice cream and unwind after the long day.
